Ammunition

« Items

This page is a work in progress.

Ranged weapons in Project Silverfish have access to a number of ammo types that can be switched to depending on the situation. To do so, hold the reload button (R by default), and select the ammo type you want to use by clicking on it.

The following tables show which ammunition is available in Project Silverfish. You can use the table of contents to jump to a category.

9mm

Used in Light Pistols, SMGs and PDWs.

9×19mm might not have the punch of heavier cartridges, but it makes up for it by being common, lighter, and cheaper.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
Parabellum 3 0.01 N/A
AP 6 0.01 Increased armour penetration

.45 Cal

Used in Revolvers, Heavy Pistols and other Unorthodox Weapons.

.45, also known as .45 Auto or 11.43×23mm, is bigger and hits harder than 9mm, but it is less common, heavier, more expensive.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
ACP 6 0.013 N/A
HollowPoint 8 0.013 Increased damage against unarmoured targets, but decreased armour penetration.
Micro-Frag 12 0.02 Explosive.

12 Gauge

Used in various Shotguns.

12 gauge is the only shotgun caliber currently available in the game. It is devastating at close range, and can even stay effective up to medium range, but any more and it very quickly lose its effectiveness. It is also one of the heaviest ammo types.

Out of all the ranged munition types, 12 gauge has the most variants, with a total of five.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
Buckshot 8 0.034 Spread of pellets with low armour penetration.
Slug 10 0.036 Single slug with high armour penetration.
Dragon's Breath 12 0.036 Incendiary buckshot. Low armour penetration.
DSAPI 18 0.036 Discarding sabot, armour-piercing, incendiary.
Frag-12 24 0.04 Fragmentation grenade shot.

5.6 Intermediate

Used in Carbines and Light Rifles.

5.6mm (the game's equivalent to 5.56×45mm) is a versatile rifle round. While it lacks the punch and penetration of its heavier .30-06 cousin, it is much more common, lightweight, and cheaper.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
FMJ 6 0.012 N/A
AP 10 0.012 Increased armour penetration, but decreased damage against soft targets.
Incendiary 12 0.012 Sets target on fire.

.30-06 Full Rifle

Used in Heavy Rifles, DMRs, and LMGs.

.30-06 Springfield (7.62×63mm in metric notation) is Project Silverfish's bigger rifle round. It provides more damage and armour penetration than 5.6mm, but is less common, more expensive, and heavier.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
FMJ 9 0.014 N/A
Incendiary 12 0.014 Sets target on fire.
Tandem 12 0.014 Fires three projectiles with reduced velocity and accuracy.
HE 16 0.017 Explosive.

.50 Cal

Used in Heavy Snipers and Anti-Materiel Weapons.

.50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun), also known as 12.7×99mm NATO, is the dedicated anti-materiel cartridge in the game. It deals the most damage out of all bullet-type cartridges and has the highest natural penetration, but it is also very expensive and heavy.

As of demo version 0.14.9, no NPCs aside from the Insurrection sniper spawn with .50 BMG weapons, making shops, traders, and loot containers (with the "replenish loot" difficulty option enabled) being the only renewable ways to acquire more ammo of this type.

Name Value ($) Weight (kg) Effect
FMJ 26 0.044 N/A
HEIAP 40 0.05 Explosive, incendiary, armour-piercing.

40mm Grenade

60mm Rocket
