Observatory

The observatory is the largest Freelancer safe zone, and is often the first one the player will visit. There's a hidden entrance leading to the Forgotten Tunnels.
Crossroads

The crossroads is one of the first areas the player visits, after the Observatory. It connects to most of the game world, and is the location of several quests. It also has an entrance to the Cistern.
Black Lake

Black Lake is a large, wide-open region that is home to a freelancer base, in the Black Market.
Depot

The Depot is a large railyard where goods were shipped in and out of Port Rale. Hidden in its office is an entrance to the Lab E-206.
Metropol

Metropol, also known as Port Rale, is a dense city that is a frequent war zone between factions. Beneath the city is a Subway System which has flooded with acidic water. To the north is The Borough, the Revolution's main base.
Flood Plains

The flood plains, formerly known as Beauly, was the site of an eather-based chemical mill. Today, it's home to a Revolution outpost within RG East, while RG West sits abandoned and full of hazards.
Goldwood Forest

Goldwood forest is the site of a former logging camp, now being used as an Insurrectionist base.
M35 North East
(Main page: M35 North East)
M35 North East is a highway that crosses black river, with some trainyards and a radio station nearby. There is a Strange Junk Shop that can be found here, behind a building.
Dead Bridge

Dead Bridge is a heavily-fortified military base, set up across a collapsed highway bridge, protected by turrets, attack helicopters, and many soldiers. Between the two sides of the bridge is acidic water, with islands of mud where fungi release toxic spores.
Stone Maze

The stone maze is the site that the military is guarding at Dead Bridge. It is a war zone between all factions - including cultists in much higher numbers than any other region. The Craftsman's Shop can be found here.
